Alexandra Wiebe
Soprano
Soprano Alexandra Wiebe began 2025 by being named a winner of the John Alexander National Vocal Competition, and performing in concert with Opera Mississippi. She then debuted as the soprano soloist in Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 with Symphony Pro Musica in Boston, before joining Central City Opera as an Apprentice Artist, where she covered in the regional premiere of Aleksandra Vrebalov’s The Knock. She then made her much-anticipated Wagnerian role debut as Gutrune in Götterdämmerung as part of the only North American Ring Cycle in 2025, produced by the Wagner in Vermont Festival. Later this season, Alexandra looks forward to singing the roles of Großmutter and Frau B in the U. S. premiere of Ella Milch-Sheriff’s Baruch’s Schweigen.
Alexandra particularly specializes in the performance of new works, and has had the great pleasure of performing in seven premieres, as well as numerous 21st century masterpieces. She looks forward to adding more contemporary roles to her repertoire in the upcoming season, and is always eager to collaborate on new projects.
