Alexandra Wiebe

Soprano

Soprano Alexandra Wiebe began the season by making her much-anticipated Wagnerian role debut as Gutrune in Götterdämmerung as part of the only North American Ring Cycle in 2025, produced by the Wagner in Vermont Festival. Later this season, Alexandra sang the roles of Großmutter and Frau B in the U. S. premiere of Ella Milch-Sheriff’s Baruch’s Schweigen, revisited Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel as the Witch with the Little Orchestra Society in NYC, and joined Sarasota Opera to cover the title roles in The Merry Widow and Susannah. She looks forward to making debuts with Opera Magnifico and Opera Company of Middlebury in Pagliacci as Nedda, Annina in Verdi’s La traviata and the leading lady Berta in the U. S. premiere of Xavier Montsalvatge’s Babel 46. Alexandra closes out the season by returning to the Wagner in Vermont Festival as Blumenmädchen in Parsifal and competing in Florida Grand Opera’s Young Patronesses of the Opera Competition.

Alexandra particularly specializes in the performance of new works, and has had the great pleasure of performing in several premieres, as well as numerous 21st century masterpieces. She looks forward to adding more contemporary roles to her repertoire in the upcoming season, and is always eager to collaborate on new projects.
